By rule, the SHARS cost report settlement/reconciliation process must be completed within 24 months of the end of the reporting period covered by a cost report.
Understanding the policies that drive the cost report settlement process is critical to successfully navigating the reconciliation process. Failure to do so properly could result in your district leaving valuable Medicaid funding on the table.
This session will detail the audit review process, explain the purpose of cost report settlement, and discuss the intricacies surrounding the reconciliation process as well as the informal review process.
