The Random Moment Time Study (RMTS) continues to play a critical role in the SHARS program, and its results affect every participating school district. While the RMTS has undergone several changes in recent years—including important updates implemented in federal fiscal year 2026—understanding how the process works is essential for districts of all sizes and experience levels.
In this session, we’ll review how the RMTS has evolved, discuss what the recent changes mean for your district, and share practical strategies for preparing staff to successfully participate in today’s RMTS.
