District Background

Wendy Dieker is the Director of Operations at Janesville-Waldorf-Pemberton School District (JWP), about 60 miles south of Minneapolis. Since JWP is a small district, Wendy fills multiple roles: assistant to the superintendent, human resources work, supporting the business manager, and generating state-required reports.

JWP uses Frontline solutions to manage the hiring and onboarding process as well as fill teacher absences and track time for payroll. With new updates to Frontline Central, when a candidate is hired, their employee information in Frontline Recruiting & Hiring automatically gets populated in the other Frontline systems.

That not only kicks off onboarding, it also means the employee’s information is correct in Absence Management and Time and Attendance.

“When we can share employee data among these platforms, it reduces my typos, it reduces the chances of errors coming in. If you misspell a teacher’s name somewhere, that lives in your data as a little gremlin for so long, and I’m always so grateful for Recruiting & Hiring — that’s the source of the data and it pushes that applicant data into our other platforms — because the employee filled that out.”

When employee information changes, such an address or phone number, keeping it current is a snap.

“The employee data is the same across all our platforms that we use. We only need to update it in one spot.”

Less time on duplicate data entry means Wendy has more time for more important work that comes across her desk, and that’s something to celebrate.
