The DESE office can only answer questions about licensing. If you have questions about the online training program – before, during, or after registration – please do not contact DESE as they will advise you to contact Frontline. All online training questions should be submitted via Frontline’s Learning Center where you can find answers to Frequently Asked Questions and/or create a ticket. Inquiries typically receive a response within 2-4 business hours.
Important Information:
The cost for the full set of courses required to meet the Missouri substitute teaching requirement is $180 plus any applicable taxes.
A Content Substitute certificate may NOW be granted to an individual who has successfully completed a minimum of twenty (20) clock hours of department-approved substitute teacher training. THIS SET OF TRAINING COURSES IS ONLY AVAILABLE FOR INDIVIDUALS PREPARING TO BECOME A SUBSTITUTE TEACHER IN MISSOURI.
Interested in becoming a substitute teacher in Missouri? Don’t have the required 60 hours of college-level credits?
You can now obtain your certification to become a substitute teacher in Missouri through completing Frontline Substitute Teacher Training, as approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The training consists of approximately 20 hours of content specifically designed for substitute teachers and aligned to Missouri Teaching Standards. Upon completion, you’ll receive a Frontline Certificate of Completion demonstrating your readiness to obtain a Missouri substitute teacher license, but more importantly, you’ll have the confidence of knowing you’re prepared to enter the classroom!
